Location: Praia do Forte. Praia do Forte was once just a small fishing village, but it is now being developed as an ecologically-minded upscale beach resort. It offers diverse ecosystems, beautiful beaches traversed by rivers and estuaries, dunes, coconut groves, lagoons and mangroves ? a home to rare tropical wildlife. You can explore its natural beauty and nice restaurants and nightlife. Get your map of the village at our reception desk. Praia do Forte is a small, well-kept place where the friendly fisherman and tourists live in harmony. You will find them helpful and discreet. Begging or obtrusiveness is unknown. A 5-minute walk from the back of the main hotel entrance will bring you into the center of the village. You can also leave the front of the hotel, turn right and follow the beach. After 100 metres turn around the lighthouse and you will see the church at the center of the bay and the main street crossing the village. The bay is protected by a reef that provides for swimming all the time.

The restaurant is open all day long until 11 o?clock at night. It is our pleasure to serve you in the restaurant or on our beach area. Our cuisine is renowned for the local specialities, such as ?the Moqueca? ? exquisitely prepared with coconut. Our caipirinha is famous ? a mixture of local Brazilian cachaça and lime. If vodka is used instead of sugarcane liqueur, it?s called caipirosca, with more variations made by using other tropical fruits. Ask our barman.
Leisure: Eco-tourism. Praia do Forte is well known for it?s sound ecological footprint. No house is taller than the palm trees. The village is center of the projects such as ?Tamar?, dedicated to save the turtles from extinction. This high level of protection forbids all motor traffic on the beach ? no buggies, no cars, no motorcycles. And no lights at night, because newly hatched baby turtles need to run towards the dim reflected starlight coming from the ocean in order to find the safety of the water. Street lights cause the young turtles to run in the wrong direction and become exhausted. If you want to know more, the project center is just 100 metres on your left, by the lighthouse.
